WHY ATS EXISTS
Travel has always been more than a getaway for me — it’s been an education.
Through years of staying in short-term rentals across different countries and cultures, I began noticing something most guests don’t articulate: how deeply a space shapes the experience of a trip.
What elevated a stay wasn’t always the location — it was the details, the presentation, the follow-through.
That curiosity eventually led me to photographing cabins and working with owners directly. I saw firsthand how strong visuals and thoughtful positioning could change performance.
But I also saw the gap.
Even when owners invested in marketing, assets went unused. Listings stagnated. Pricing ignored market signals.
The opportunity was there — but the strategy wasn’t.
About That Stay exists to close that gap.

I’m Khristel — founder of About That Stay.
My background in travel, marketing, and photography shaped how I see this industry: incredible properties often underperform not because of location, but because of positioning.
About That Stay was built to change that — combining hospitality-first management with strategic oversight to help properties reach their full potential. Today, I lead a focused team dedicated to elevating properties through thoughtful strategy, disciplined management, and guest-first hospitality.
Originally from Costa Rica and fluent in Spanish, I bring both a global perspective and a cultural sensitivity to how we work with guests and owners alike.

The kitchen is well stocked and the beds are very comfortable with quality linens. There are lots of pillows and throw blankets for extra coziness. The shelf with books, games, and puzzles is a nice touch too. The entire place feels well thought-out as if the hosts want to take good care of you.
Our communication with the hosts was great too. They were easy to reach (not that we had any issues) and responded quickly.
